Pine Island firefighters were called to a second car fire in four days on the same stretch of U.S. Highway 52 Thursday. At about 12:45 p.m., fire trucks were dispatched to the 9700 block of Highway 52 in Oronoco Township. On arrival, firefighters found a Toyota Camry with a fire under the hood and inside the passenger area. Crews were able to knock the flames down shortly after arrival. Property was saved inside the trunk of the car. A damage estimate was not available, and the cause of the fire is under investigation.
