Eden Prairie names new fire chief

Scott Gerber has been named the next fire chief of the Eden Prairie Fire Department. Gerber, who was the chief of the Excelsior Fire District for the past 12 years, replaces former chief George Esbensen, who retired in December. A release said he will take over his new post on April 1.
