A fire marshal has ruled a fire Monday at the Lake George warming shelter an arson, according to St. Cloud Fire Department's daily critical incident report. The fire department responded to the bathroom of the warming house at 425 East Lake Blvd. at about 5:43 p.m. Monday to verify the fire was extinguished. According to the report, someone lit a toilet paper roll on fire; the fire self-extinguished. People with information on the fire are asked to call the arson hotline at 1-800-723-2020. Rewards may be offered, the report states. In March 2018, a fire in a trash can at the warming shelter caused $50,000 in damage. That fire was found in a trash can in one of the bathrooms; the fire caused smoke damage and burned a paper towel dispenser.
