Officials have been searching the Mississippi River in Minneapolis since Thursday evening after a person jumped into the river. According to tweets from the Minneapolis Fire Department, fire crews responded to the river between Lowery Avenue North and Broadway Street Northeast around 6:35 p.m. Fire crews had eyes on the victim in the water and launched a boat to try to reach and retrieve them, while others on the shore tracked the victim until they could be rescued. However, crews lost visual of the victim, who "possibly went under the water," a tweet at 6:49 p.m. said. Hennepin County Sheriff's Office Water Patrol also responded to the scene to help search, moving the search to between the Broadway Street Northeast and Plymouth Avenue North bridges, a 7:03 p.m. tweet said.
