The City of Olivette Names New Fire Chief

Olivette is pleased to announce that Chief Steve Carman has accepted the position of Fire Chief effective August 26th, 2019. Chief Carman brings comprehensive knowledge of fire suppression and prevention, EMS, emergency management, and the expertise to develop and administer operating and capital budgets. Chief Carman graduated from East Central College in Union, MO from the Paramedic program. He earned a Bachelor of Arts in Fire Service Administration in 2016 and a Master of Business Administration in 2019 from Lindenwood University. Before accepting this position, Chief Carman served with the City of Richmond Heights Fire Department for 30 years, beginning his career in 1989. He was promoted to Battalion Chief in 2010 and Fire Chief in 2016. Chief Carman grew up in Washington, Missouri graduating in 1985 from St. Francis Borgia Regional High School. He has four kids: Erika, Tyler, Philip and Gretchen, and four grandchildren with one on the way.
