A tractor-trailer driver is recovering after a fiery crash Monday morning on U.S. 60 between Springfield and Rogersville. The driver was carrying 2,000 gallons of diesel and 6,000 gallons of gas when he got distracted and hit the median. The truck caught fire in the median of the highway. Drivers report seeing smoke from the fire for miles. The driver escaped the truck fire with mild to severe injuries including burns. He was transported to a local hospital. The crash slowed traffic during the rush-hour drive. Firefighters at the Springfield-Branson National Airport assisted in battling the fire. They sprayed foam on the fuel fire. The Aircraft Rescue Fire staff brought 400 gallons of foam to the scene. Logan-Rogersville firefighters injected the foam into their water streams and the fire was knocked down, with 250 gallons of foam to spare.
