The Moberly Fire Department and the city are working throughout March to promote severe weather preparedness.
While the state promotes severe weather preparedness this week, the city has turned it into a month-long endeavor, which began with the statewide tornado drill Tuesday and will culminate with a storm spotter class at the end of March.
Moberly Fire Chief George Albert partnered with Presiding Randolph County Commissioner John Truesdell, who is currently the county’s emergency manager; the National Weather Service; Blue Valley Public Safety; and the Red Cross to host the storm spotting course and promote information about severe weather preparedness.
Albert had been involved in similar programs during his time at the St. Joseph Fire Department, he said.
