Four apartment units were heavily damaged in an afternoon fire Wednesday.
St. Robert Fire Chief Mike Shempert says fire crews received a call of a commercial structure on fire on Hickory Ridge Drive around 3:30 p.m.
When crews arrived, they saw heavy smoke and flames coming through the roof of an eight unit, two story apartment complex.
With the assistance of multiple agencies firefighters were able to stop the fire from spreading to six of the apartments.
Everyone in the apartments were able to escape safely, although one person in the apartment where the fire originated had to jump out of a second story window.
No injuries were reported.
The cause of the fire was ruled undetermined, but the fire marshal could not rule out smoking.
