One person is in custody after a man's body was found in a burning home Sunday, Kansas City police said. Police said officers were called about 5:30 p.m. to the 5600 block of Northeast Poe Avenue on a report of gunfire. When officers arrived, they spotted a fire burning in the basement. While firefighters were putting out the fire, they discovered the man's body. Police said the man's death is being investigated as a homicide. Authorities said they expect charges will be filed soon.
