The Redings Mill Fire Protection District is asking for help locating stolen equipment after one of its satellite stations in Joplin was robbed over the weekend. Residents feel it may be connected to other recent thefts. When firefighters arrived at Fire Station 5 to do a routine inventory check on Monday, Jan. 6, they noticed right away that something big was missing. “They didn’t damage anything inside. We found that they did take the brush truck and all the equipment on it, and they got into our fire engine in that facility and took some equipment from it and also stole the security camera system,” explained Redings Mill Fire Chief Steve Coats. It’s not the first time this station has been broken into and residents doubt it will be the last.
