After a several month delay, due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the Moberly Fire Department soon will start its annual business inspections. Some changes to how inspections are done were implemented, including social distancing and a new software system for logging incident reports, Moberly Fire Chief George Albert said. “With COVID and this transfer, we’re a little slower getting our business inspections started,” he said Monday. “We hoping to start those within the next week or so.” With more than 600 businesses in Moberly to inspect, it likely will take several months to complete all of the inspections. Inspectors plan to email business owners in the days leading up to the inspection. Social distancing guidelines mean there likely will only be one inspector per visit. Inspectors are encouraged to wear masks during their visits, Albert said
