Around 5:06 a.m. on Thursday morning, units from the Hannibal Fire Department responded to a report of a structure fire at 410 Bird Street. All stations responded and an additional five off-duty members called in. The fire was under control in about 20 minutes with overhaul operations continuing for 2 hours. One occupant was taken to the hospital for smoke inhalation. The individual was treated and released from the hospital. The structure sustained moderate fire and smoke damage. Smoke alarms were present but not working at the time of the fire. The fire is being listed as accidental.
