The Missouri State Fire Marshal and Hannibal Fire Department have ruled that a fatal house fire on Monday in Hannibal was accidental.
HFP also released the name of the victim as 58-year-old Kimberly D. Lukow of Hannibal.
HFD responded at 2:20 p.m. Monday to 2530 Lakenan Road.
Upon arrival, firefighters said they saw smoke and flames coming from the back of the house.
According to firefighters, two people made it out, but one person was still inside the house.
Firefighters said they could enter the house, but were forced back out due to heavy fire conditions. After containing the fire, they were able to re-enter the house and locate the victim, who was pronounced dead at the scene.
Another person was taken to Hannibal Regional Hospital to be treated for injuries.
