The Woolmarket community is now a little bit safer with the addition of a new Biloxi Fire Department. Today was the grand opening of Biloxi Fire Station 10, the Rousseau Fire Station. This station was named after former Biloxi Firefighter Anthony Rousseau who died in the line of duty in 1951. Biloxi Fire Chief Joe Boney said, “His death was never really recognized as a line of duty death. Back then they didn’t do that. We found out about it a few years ago and since then we have been working as the Biloxi Fire Department to get him recognized as a line of duty death.” The new station is located on Old Highway 67 in Woolmarket. Anyone in the area is welcome to stop in and tour the new building.
