An investigation continues today into a weekend fire that broke out at a Gulfport apartment complex. Gulfport Fire Chief Mike Beyerstedt says around 8 p.m. a fire broke out at Ravenwood Apartments on Pass Road. Eight units from Gulfport Fire battled for several hours with Gulfport Police and AMR responding to the scene, helping evacuate the building. Chief Beyerstedt says the main damage came from one unit from the inside with structural, smoke, and water damage to adjoining units. The department rescued one woman from the second floor who suffered minor smoke inhalation. One dog also passed away.
