Crews battled an early-morning blaze at a business in Waveland. Waveland Fire Chief Tommy Carver says the fire broke out on Kiln-Waveland Cutoff Road around 4:20 a.m. We’re told the building was a cabinet shop with an apartment upstairs. When crews arrived on scene, there was already heavy smoke in the building and fire shooting from the roof. Aerial support was needed to battle the flames. There were no injuries, but the building was completely destroyed. Chief Carver says the large amount of lumber present in the building made the fire much harder to fight.
