PHOTOS: Emergency crews are on the scene in Forrest County after an 18-wheeler crash turned fatal on Interstate 59 South Thursday morning. Mississippi Highway Patrol Troop J Public Affairs Officer, Sgt. Taylor Shows has confirmed that one person is dead following the crash. According to a traffic alert from the Mississippi Department of Transportation, a vehicle fire happened on I-59 S past Monroe Road Exit 73 at the 71-mile marker at 6:59 a.m. Around 7:12 a.m., MDOT reported that traffic was high and it would possibly take around three hours for traffic to clear.
