Firefighters in Bismarck are getting a chance to train in a building before it gets demolished. Property Resources Group owns the Kelly Inn and has plans to demolish it. Until they do, they are allowing the police and fire department to carry out training. "A building like this that is eventually going to be demolished, we can go in here and practice going through doors, get into buildings that we normally can't get into that are locked, that are closed up so we can better our skills. Hone our skills on getting in that while making as little damage as possible, and as quickly as possible," said Tom Hardmeyer, Bismarck Fire Captain. ?Wednesday's practice helps firefighters rescue unresponsive people from above. By lifting them free of an opening.
