Justin Cutting was sworn in Monday night as the town’s new deputy fire chief, 23 years after he was first hired as a firefighter. Cutting, a captain for the last 11 years, was sworn into his new role at Monday’s selectmen meeting alongside new firefighter Matthew Brillard, son of Hampton fire Lt. Michael Brillard. Cutting is filling a vacancy left by Bill Kennedy, who retired earlier this year after serving as deputy since 2015. Cutting said he has loved Hampton and its fire department since he moved here with his wife and he looks forward to serving the department in a new administrative capacity. Before he was a captain, he served as lieutenant and has been president of both of Hampton’s fire unions.
