Ambulance calls in New Hampshire have not increased at this point in the COVID-19 outbreak, but first responders said Tuesday they're ready if they do. Officials from some of the 43 departments in the Seacoast Chiefs Mutual Aid District met at the Exeter Fire Department to go over precautions that are in place to protect the public and emergency personnel. "We have shift strength of six to seven personnel per shift, but if we have three people who are asked to self-isolate or quarantine, that's half of our shift," said Exeter Assistant Fire Chief Eric Wilking. Officials asked that people check COVID-19 symptoms from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and stay home or call their doctors if the symptoms are mild. For anyone who calls 911, dispatchers might have screening questions, including about underlying conditions.
