PHOTO: A fire destroyed a popular northern New Hampshire restaurant on Monday morning.
The fire broke out around 4 a.m. at the Spa Restaurant & Outback Pub on Washington Street, also known as Route 3, in West Stewartstown.
The first firefighters on the scene saw heavy fire showing from the building. Crews from New Hampshire and Vermont responded.
The Department of Transportation temporarily closed part of Route 3 in the area while crews fought the fire.
The extent of injuries, if any, is not known.
The restaurant was established in West Stewartstown in 1927.
Other restaurants in northern New England posted messages in support of the Spa Restaurant on social media.
