Four people were displaced after a fire at an apartment building in Manchester on Wednesday. It started around 4 p.m. at the corner of Central and Beech streets. The first firefighters to arrive reported flames coming from the building. Crews were able to get the fire knocked down in 12 minutes, and they said the time of day made a difference. "This time of day, we were able to get a jump on it. Had this happened in the wee hours of the morning, it may have gotten a little bigger and it may have turned into a bit bigger than what it was," said Batt. Chief Kenneth Proulx. No injuries were reported and the Red Cross is helping those displaced. A cause of the fire is not known.
