VIDEO: A fire shot through the roof of a two-story home on Pascack Avenue on Wednesday night, leaving the family displaced.
No one was injured in the fire, Chief Stephen Velthaus said. The family was out of the house when first responders arrived, but two dogs were still inside before they were safely rescued, Velthaus said.
Firefighters could be seen carrying collages of family photos out of the house. Other responders investigated inside, flashlights in hand.
The second floor and attic had black marks on the exterior, and the windows were blown out.
The fire remained under investigation, Velthaus said. It took about a half-hour to get the blaze under control.
