Ten people were displaced early Saturday morning after a single-alarm fire, officials said.
Just after 2 a.m., firefighters responded to the blaze in the front room of the first-floor apartment at 153 Pine St., Jersey City spokeswoman Kimberly Wallace-Scalcione said.
The American Red Cross was notified of six adults and four children needing relocation.
The 1-alarm fire was under control within minutes without further damage, Wallace-Scalcione said.
No one was injured. The cause of the fire is under investigation, Wallace-Scalcione added.
