A man set fire to his home and stabbed his brother after an argument, authorities say.
Thomas E. Pearson, 55, allegedly took a can of gasoline from the garage of his home, poured the fuel in different locations in the house and started a fire Saturday afternoon, according to the Burlington County Prosecutor's Office.
"When his brother tried to stop him, Pearson stabbed him with a knife," the prosecutor's office alleged in a statement Tuesday. Police went to the home on the 400 block of Dartmouth Avenue in response to a reported domestic disturbance and house fire around 5:15 p.m., the statement said.
Pearson shares the house with his brother, who is three years younger.
Firefighters quickly brought the blaze under control, police said.
