The body of a man was pulled from the Hudson River off the Jersey City shoreline Tuesday afternoon. The body was placed on a pier on the Jersey City side of the river, near the Hudson-Bergen Light Rail’s Harborside Station after it was removed from the water by New York Police Department's Harbor Patrol Unit. The man is believed to be from Carteret, based on an identification card police found on the man, a source with knowledge of the investigation said. The Hudson County Prosecutor’s Office is investigating the death, spokesman Ray Worrall said. Jersey City police and firefighters, as well as the NYPD and a North Hudson Regional Fire and Rescue Marine Unit were at the scene. Police could be seen holding up a sheet around the man as he was placed into a body bag.
