A family of eight lost everything after a fire tore through their second-story home in the township Tuesday evening, which brought out a full fire crew from Sussex County, according to the township fire marshal. The fire was reported by a resident of the home on Tintle Avenue in West Milford around 6:15 p.m., according to West Milford Fire Marshal Michael Moscatello. When first responders arrived on scene, fire and heavy smoke were coming from the second floor attic of the home, which is located just a street over from Greenwood Lake. Four adults and four children were able to escape the home unharmed along with a pet dog, Riley, Moscatello said. The two-alarm blaze was under control in around 30 minutes with the second floor suffering the most damage, according to Moscatello.
