Township firefighters battled two fires a few hours apart at opposite ends of the 30-square mile community this week. A total of 11 people were displaced from the two fires. About 6:58 p.m. Wednesday during a storm that brought lightening, thunder, high winds and heavy rain, a fire was reported at 14 Anthony Ave. in the northern section of the township, according to Fire Capt. Andy Toth. The house was heavily burned, Toth said. He said the fire went through and the house and the amount of water needed to put the fire out caused damage. Six people were displaced by the fire, Toth said. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
