Doña Ana County signaled its support for funding for behavioral health services, state prison resources, emergency services and local law enforcement. The county commission voted Tuesday 5-0 to support the counties' legislative priority list, which is compiled annually by the New Mexico Counties Board of Directors. The board recommends all 33 counties statewide approve support of the funding wish list going into the upcoming session in the state legislature. The NMC board's list was approved in October and the organization says the more counties that affirm support, the stronger case it can make to get the priority list fulfilled.
