A fire that destroyed a backyard shed was reported in Las Cruces Monday morning.
Las Cruces Fire Department responded to the blaze, in the 800 block of Madrid Avenue, shortly after 10 a.m.
Firefighters found a fully engulfed shed upon their arrival.
The fire to the shed endangered a nearby residence, an LCFD report said. However, firefighters were able to quickly attack the fire and bring it under control within minutes.
A person was found in a nearby abandoned home and was escorted from that building.
The cause of the fire continues to be investigated.
No injuries were reported.
