A “suspicious” fire that sparked at an apartment in south Reno left one person with minor injuries and displaced residents from eight other units, according to the Reno Fire Department. The fire was reported just after 11 a.m. at the Meadowood Condominiums on Delucchi Lane. Four units were damaged in the fire, Fire Chief David Cochran said. Crews were considering the fire as suspicious because of the intensity of the blaze. Cochran also said the fire quickly spread throughout the unit. “Suspicious does not mean foul play,” Cochran said. Craig Bowman, 54, and Chris Dills, 37, were installing coaxial cable in a nearby apartment when they smelled smoke and noticed black smoke pouring through a window of one of the units across the way. The two called the fire department and began banging on neighbor’s doors to get them out.
