Carson City Fire Department was called late Wednesday morning to a fully engulfed vehicle fire in the westbound lane of Highway 50 West on the valley side, around a mile past Golf Club Drive. The call came into dispatch at 11:23 a.m. regarding a vehicle fire. First responders arriving on scene reported that all occupants were out of the SUV and that the vehicle was fully engulfed in flames. Traffic was diverted around the incident. There wasn't any spread to nearby vegetation and firefighters were able to get it under control within minutes of arriving. The incident was turned over to the Nevada Highway Patrol for investigation.
