VIDEO: The Fallon Naval Air Station Fire Department not only provides services and protects the naval base, but also serves the local community of Churchill County. "I love serving the military community and I think it's very honorable for what they do and I love being a part of that and being able to support them so they can carry out their important missions," Captain Bret Davis, of the fire department, says.
These federal firefighters provide the same services as traditional fire departments, but unlike typical fire houses, they deal with fighter air craft on a regular basis.
"It's very unique and specific to what we do on the airfield side of the house it takes specialized training to deal with that," he says. Davis says they are always prepared to handle crashes.
