PHOTOS: Authorities have fully contained the Slide Fire that burned acres near Washoe County. Crews responded to a fire near Slide Mountain south of Reno around Tuesday evening. The fire expanded to two acres due to timber and downed fuels. Crews established a containment line to stop the spread. Helicopters conducted multiple water drops and assisted ground-based crews to fully contain the fire on Wednesday. Authorities say no structures were threatened or lost. Firefighters from the Humboldt-Toiyabe National Forest, North Lake Tahoe Fire Protection District, Truckee Meadows Fire Protection District, and the Nevada Division of Forestry contributed to the response effort. The cause of the fire remains under investigation. Officials will continue to mop up hotspots throughout the week to target 'controlled' status.
