American Red Cross of Southern Nevada volunteers responded to an apartment building fire that displaced 15 people in the central valley. On Sunday, Las Vegas Fire & Rescue responded to a fire in the 300 block of W. Cincinnati Avenue near Las Vegas Boulevard and Sahara Avenue. Officials said five units were affected by the fire, and utilities are not expected to be restored until Tuesday. The Red Cross provided essential items, such as clothing and food, to those affected, assisted in replacing prescription medicines, and provided a safe place to stay. Beyond addressing immediate needs, the Red Cross said volunteers provided crucial emotional support to those impacted by the fire. Financial assistance is also available for those in need, and information to guide home fire victims through the recovery.
