VIDEO/PHOTOS: Authorities responded Sunday afternoon after two car batteries ignited a fire in downtown Las Vegas.
Las Vegas Fire and Rescue responded to an emergency service request at the Symphony Park Parking Structure at 355 Promenade Place around 12:30 p.m.
The caller reported that an SUV was on fire on the top floor.
The first LVFR unit was on scene three minutes after their assignment and found two vehicles inflamed upon their arrival.
According to the investigation, the fire was initiated when the car battery for one vehicle was discovered dead. In an act of assistance, the second car began charging the battery.
The car owners then left the vehicles charging, and when they returned, both cars were on fire, authorities said.
No injuries were reported.
