No one was injured after police detonated aged dynamite in a rural area of Eureka County. Monday morning, at around 8:00 a.m., Eureka County dispatch received a call about possible explosives found in an unincorporated area of the county, in the Crescent Valley area. Members of the Elko County Regional Bomb Squad were called, and the decision was made to detonate the explosive due to its age and the unknown amount of it. The Eureka County Sheriff’s Office, Crescent Valley Fire, Eureka County EMS, Beowawe Fire, and the Elko Bomb Squad were all present for the detonation. The area was determined to be safe after the detonation.
