A recent Reno Fire Department report is adding new details about a house fire that killed two teens late last year.
The October 19, 2023 fire started around 3 a.m. on Teramo Court off Veterans Parkway.
When crews arrived, the house was engulfed in flames and eventually the roof collapsed.
At one point, the report states the fire was so intense, crews had to stop searching for possible victims. By this time, the first victim, 19-year-old Davis Barbee had been rescued and was taken to a nearby hospital for treatment.
When fire crews re-entered the home, they found middle school student, 13-year-old Travis Barbee in an upstairs bedroom.
Reno Fire says two firefighters were also injured - one suffered burns to his leg, the other with smoke inhalation.
