VIDEO: An investigation is underway after a fire broke out Wednesday morning next to a building that caught on fire last week in Sparks. The fire started around 8 a.m. on Wedekind Road off of El Rancho Drive at an abandoned building. There's no immediate word on how this new fire started. Fire crews say no injuries were reported. A portion of Wedekind will remain shut down in both directions between El Rancho and Sullivan until the fire is under control. A scene photo shows a lot of smoke coming up from the roof of the boarded-up building. Last week, firefighters responded to a fire at a vacant building located close by. Wednesday's photo shows both buildings, blackened, with charred grass surrounding the structure. No injuries were reported in the first fire.
