Reno firefighters worked to put out smoldering from a fire that broke out on Friday. The Reno Fire Department says it will continue monitoring the site to make sure there is no threat to nearby residents or the community. Firefighters put out a fire that destroyed a home and caused some damage to two others in south Reno near Damonte Ranch High School. It broke out at a home on Fire Poppy Circle just before 9:30 p.m. Friday. More than a dozen engines responded to the blaze according to a spokesperson for the Reno Fire Department. Nobody was injured in the fire, but the house where it started was destroyed. One neighbor's house suffered minor exterior damage while another neighbor's house received some damage in the attic.
