A Sylvania State Farm insurance owner who owns an old fire truck is hoping to help kids in the area with school supplies. Mike Buck decided he wanted to fill up his own fire truck with the supplies. The fire union reached out to Buck and said they wanted to help out and went to the store to get all the supplies. "You'd be surprised people think Sylvania is more affluent community, it really ranges in demographics from poor to wealthy and sometimes we forget about that lower half here in Sylvania that still needs help from us," explained Mike Street, the president of Sylvania Firefighters Local 2243. The fire union had a number of fundraisers throughout the years and Sylvania Schools is one of the organizations that gets the benefits including these supplies.
