Lorain Assistant Fire Chief Chris Radman will be promoted to chief after attaining the top score on the department’s civil service exam administered in March following action by Lorain’s Civil Service Commission on April 9.
The Civil Service Commission gave unanimous approval to a motion establishing the eligibility list for the position of fire chief with the Lorain Fire Department. Radman’s appointment will become official on April 10 with a swearing-in ceremony to come at a later date.
“Lorain is excited to welcome Chris Radman as the next fire chief. During his career, he has been an integral member of the Lorain Fire Department,” said Mayor Chase Ritenauer. “I know that will continue as chief, and I welcome his leadership to the Lorain Fire Department.”
Radman, a veteran of the Lorain Fire Department, replaces outgoing fire chief Matt Homolya.
