An East Liverpool home is a total loss following a fire Tuesday afternoon.
The East Liverpool Fire Department arrived at 829 Cadmus St. around 12:00 p.m.
The fire was fully involved when firefighters arrived, with most of the flames coming from the back of the house. While no one was injured, a dog did perish inside the house.
In addition, firefighters received quite a scare when they arrived on scene.
"We had neighbors report that there was an elderly female still inside. So, the guys went in and did a search of the home; they were unable to locate her. Family did arrive and said that the lady was not home; she had actually passed away about a year and a half ago,” said East Liverpool Fire Chief William Jones.
The current owner of the home was at work when the fire occurred.
