Continuing the legacy of a longtime and well-liked fire chief in Trumbull County, there's now a scholarship in Randy Pugh's honor. The Red Knights Motorcycle Club handed out two EMT scholarships Wednesday night in memory of the former Weathersfield fire chief, who died last year. Pugh started his career with Lane LifeTRANS as an EMT. The group raised money through a poker run. The members wanted to honor Pugh for all the work he did in the Valley. "Most of the people involved in this club, he has touched one way or the other," Barry Schroeder said. "This was the best way, we figured, we could honor him, would be to continue to put people through the EMS program." The applicants had to write an essay for the scholarship. Michael Krause and Abigail Lambert were the first two recipients. They will start their training at the Lane LifeTRANS Training Center in Weathersfield Township.
