Four local EMS agencies were recognized at Fairfield Medical Center for outstanding treatment of patients who experience severe heart attacks.
Lancaster Fire Department, Pleasant Township Fire, Basil-Joint Fire District and New Lexington Fire Department were presented with an American Heart Association Mission: Lifeline award.
The award which recognizes EMS agencies for their efforts in improving systems of care to rapidly identify suspected heart attack patients, promptly notify the medical center and trigger an early response from the awaiting hospital personnel, according to a news release from Fairfield Medical Center.
Lancaster Fire was presented with the EMS Gold Plus award, and Pleasant Township, Basil-Joint and New Lexington were presented with the Silver Plus award.
