Deputies shot and killed a dog that attacked another dog at the scene of an apartment fire in Franklin Twp. Thursday afternoon, according to firefighters. Firefighters responding to a reported apartment fire reported light smoke coming from a unit in the 8700 block of Dayton-Oxford Road around noon. When firefighters opened the door to the apartment where the fire started, a large dog ran out of the unit past firefighters, knocked over a child, and began attacking another, much smaller dog, investigators said. A deputies shot and killed the dog to stop the attack, investigators said.
