Norwood firefighters came to the rescue of several people trapped on the third floor of an apartment building during a fire Saturday morning. Crews were called to the building on Norwood Avenue around 5 a.m. The fire department said when they arrived, heavy smoke was coming from the building and multiple people were hanging out of the third-floor windows. A heavy fire was located on the second floor, meaning the third-floor victims were stuck above the fire, creating a very dangerous situation. Crews attacked the fire on the second floor while search teams went to the third floor to help the victims.
