Village council’s first order of business once receiving word that Wellsville was released from fiscal emergency was to purchase two new vehicles for its fire department
Members attended the teleconference Wednesday to witness the action; however, Ohio Public Meetings Law prevented them from acting on anything not on the published agenda after the session, so members had to schedule.another meeting 24 hours after that one.
So the action was swift at 7 p.m. Thursday during the special meeting for the $1 million purchase of two new trucks, one each of a 2020 E-One 75-foot ladder truck ($798,740) and the other a 2020 E-One VM8 pumper ($225,000) from Advantech Service ad Parts out of Midvale, Ohio.
Council members approved the ordinance, which is using some of the revenue generated by a fire levy that was recently renewed to replace their outdated equipment.
