Investigators are looking for the cause of the fire that sent residents of a home on Youngstown’s South Side scrambling into the chilly temperatures early Monday. Firefighters arriving at the burning home on the 100 block of East Avondale just before 4 a.m. reported a working fire. The residents had already escaped from the home, but flames were spreading through the porch and the front interior of the house. No one was injured, but there is heavy damage to the front of the two-story home.
