Due to the ongoing pandemic, the Bloom Township Fire Department is once again canceling the annual fish fry event that has traditionally been held over 75 years at Station 551 in Lithopolis.
“The fire department was hoping for a return in 2021. However, disappointedly; once again the current circumstances and environment will prevent them from hosting the fish fry in 2021,” according to Chief Thomas Williams.
It takes countless hours of planning, which begins early in the year to prepare for the event, according to Williams. With the uncertainty of guidelines and the potential for changes in mandates, it was impossible for the Firefighter’s Association to appropriately plan for the event, Williams said.
